RE-OPENING OF INDOOR COURTS – Monday 31st August
We are delighted to confirm that the indoor courts will be opened for play again from Monday 31st August.
Thank you for your patience over the last five months and we look forward to welcoming you back to indoor tennis.
We have taken the opportunity during the time the courts were closed to replace the indoor court lighting system, and we are sure that you will notice a significant improvement in the overall lighting around the courts.
Unfortunately, due to the relatively small area of our fitness gym, we have required to temporarily withdraw the use of one of our indoor courts (court 8) to enable us to create an extension to the gym facility. Please be re- assured that this decision was not taken lightly, but we would not be in a position to reopen the gym safely unless we were able to spread out the equipment and provide a new area to accommodate fitness classes.
I appreciate that this may result in some inconvenience for tennis members, but we will do everything possible to minimise this until such times that we can safely locate the gym back to its original location.
We have been working hard to ensure that play on the indoor courts can resume in a safe environment and we have taken a number of measure to ensure that this is the case.
COURT BOOKINGS AND PAYMENT
We will be able to play on the indoor courts from Monday 31st August onwards.
Bookings will be taken from Sunday 30th August when the Centre opens at 9am.
In line with Government mandatory requirements, please provide contact details of all those playing.
It is our preference that payment for courts is made over the phone when booking to minimise the need to take payment at the reception area at the time of play.
Also, wherever possible payment is to be made by debit/credit cards to minimise the use of cash transactions.
ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE
We ask players to arrive at the centre close to their booking time to minimise congestion in the building.
In view of present circumstances, we request that players use the hand sanitiser provided before and after play and leave their court through the allocated exit point five minutes before the end of their playing session (e.g. players booked between 2pm and 3pm to leave the court by 2.55pm to enable the court to be clear for the next participants)
ENTERING THE INDOOR COURTS
All players to enter the building through the main entrance.
Players booked on Courts 5 and 6 enter the courts through the first door opposite the partitioned area/temporary exit.
Players booked on Court 7 enter the courts through the door opposite the disabled toilet.
EXITING THE INDOOR COURTS
Players on Court 5 to exit the building through the fire doors nearest the reception area on court 5
Players on Courts 6 and 7 to exit the courts through the fire doors at the red courts middle of the building.
Players using the toilets require to exit and return using the doors from which they entered the courts.
Hand sanitiser units will be situated at all entrances and exit points in the indoor court area.
Face masks to be worn at all times in the building when players are not within the indoor courts area. The only exception to this is the café area where face masks will not require to be worn.
Players should adhere to the Scottish Government’s social distancing guidelines within the building (staying at least 2m away from others). The café area is the only exception where a 1m social distancing zone has been created.
Unfortunately, the changing rooms and viewing gallery will remain closed in the meantime.
Players must use their own equipment and ensure that all belongings are removed at the end of their session.
Players do not require to use their own marked tennis balls. However if you chose to use shared balls, then extra care should be taken to ensure that you do not touch your face during play.
Please familiarise yourself with the LTA “play safe guidelines” which can be accessed through the following link https://bit.ly/327HPjN.
Again, thank you all for your patience over the last five months. It is great that we can now use the indoor courts again, especially as we are heading to the autumn and the colder weather!
Thank you for your continued support.
